Oil tank trucks are divided into refueling trucks and fuel transport trucks. Both belong to the category of hazardous materials tank transport vehicles. In appearance, there is not much difference between the 2; the main distinction lies in the configuration of the upper body. The biggest difference is the fuel dispenser: refueling trucks are equipped with a fuel dispenser, while transport trucks generally are not. So, how much do you know about fuel dispensers? Fuel dispensers come in many brands and are mainly composed of a fuel reel, fuel pump, and electronic control system.
Working principle of the fuel dispenser:
Lift the fuel nozzle, press the start button, and the motherboard sends a start signal to the power drive board to start the motor. The motor drives the oil pump to operate. The fuel first passes through a filter and the pump, then enters the flow meter, which pushes the piston to move back and forth, thereby driving the counter on the flow meter to generate counting pulse signals sent to the motherboard. The motherboard processes these pulse signals to calculate the dispensed volume and cost, displaying both values. The fuel then flows through the delivery pipe and nozzle to the receiving tank. After refueling is complete, the stop button must be pressed. At this time, the motherboard sends a shutdown signal to the motor drive board to stop the motor. Returning the fuel nozzle to the holder completes the refueling process.
Like the whole vehicle, the fuel dispenser also requires maintenance and servicing.
During regular use, the fuel dispenser must be kept clean, and debris or impurities in the pipelines and tank should be regularly cleared. The filter screen should be periodically cleaned—generally once a week—and replaced promptly if damaged to prevent blockage of the fuel line. When servicing the electronic control system, the power supply must be cut off first.
