FAW J6P Dry Bulk Tank Trailer, Lightweight Transportation
▎FAW J6P 2.0: A Model for Standard Load Transport
The curb weight of the J6P cab is controlled at 8.2 tons. In terms of appearance, it continues to feature standard LED full-size headlights and wide strip fog lights. The newly designed honeycomb grille is also a key element that enhances the vehicle’s aesthetic appeal.
For this model, many individual truckers hope to use a more stylish integrated mirror frame. However, in actual use, the split design proves more reliable overall. Still, owners can consider installing an integrated adjustable deflector according to their specific needs to improve fuel efficiency during transport.

As a cost-effective model under the FAW brand, the J6P dry bulk tank trailer features non-maintenance-free steering and drive axles. This setup offers excellent value for transport businesses and individual truck owners who operate on fixed routes and have easy access to maintenance services.

Reportedly, this J6P dry bulk tank trailer is mainly used to transport flour to food processing enterprises, with a one-way transport distance of 600–800 km. The factory-equipped 800L fuel tank is more than sufficient for such round trips on empty return legs.

The chassis frame is fitted with an additional air filter device on the rear step board, ensuring that the compressor continues to perform efficiently even in dusty environments. This system allows flour to be directly delivered to the workshop using pneumatic pressure, streamlining labor and packaging costs.

Powering the truck is the CA6DM42E50 EURO V engine. It uses a lightweight 435 axle with a main reduction ratio of 3.727, making it highly versatile for standard load operations on highways and national roads. It is paired with a FAW CA12TAX210M aluminum-case transmission, with a top gear ratio of 0.783. At an economical engine speed of 1,200 rpm, the vehicle travels at 72.4 km/h.
▎New Lightweight Flour Transport Trailer: Well-Engineered

The flour transport trailer introduced here is manufactured by CSCTRUCK China Tank Truck. It features a 3-section tank made of high-strength aluminum alloy, with a curb weight of only 5,800 kg and overall dimensions of 13,000 x 2,550 x 3,850 mm. Compared to previous overlength 18m models, this design fundamentally addresses the issue of over-limit and overloading.

The tank uses a 3-section vertical cone structure. When internal pressure reaches the rated level, opening the discharge valve allows automatic flow through the pipeline. Major components, including the main beam, landing legs, and protective panels, are all made of alloy materials to reduce curb weight and enhance specialized transport capacity.

This model adopts a split alloy frame, closely resembling the structure of hazardous material transport vehicles. This makes it easier to install discharge outlets at the bottom of the tank for smoother unloading operations.

Reducing vehicle curb weight doesn’t just rely on the trailer. As seen in the images, the J6P dry bulk tank trailer is equipped with 385/80R22.5-size vacuum tires and proprietary drum brake axles, which closely resemble the design characteristics of BPW axles.

Extreme lightweight design naturally includes air suspension, which provides better stability during unloading at complex sites. It also helps maintain gas stability in the tank under rough road conditions, preventing potential safety hazards caused by turbulence.

A static grounding strip is installed on the inside of the chassis frame to minimize safety risks related to static electricity when transporting powdered materials like flour.

An alloy anti-slip ladder is mounted at the rear of the tank to help onboard personnel access the top hatch when needed, ensuring safety and stability during flour transfer. Due to height restriction regulations, the top guardrails should be foldable to ensure safe access in rainy or snowy weather.

The trailer’s bumper features a dual-layer protection design. The lower auxiliary bumper is made from energy-absorbing alloy materials, significantly improving rear collision safety.
▎Precautions for Flour Transportation:
- For powdered materials like flour, drivers must first confirm whether there is pressure inside the tank before loading. If pressure exists, do not open the feed port. First, open the pressure relief valve. Only when the pressure drops to zero and no gas is emitted from the outlet pipe should the feed hatch be opened.
- When loading flour, the feed port must be equipped with a filter to prevent clumped flour or packaging debris from entering the tank, which could cause blockages at the discharge outlet.

3. Regularly inspect the air compressor of the powder transport vehicle for oil leakage. If oil levels drop, promptly add the correct type of lubricant. Failing to do so can damage the compressor.
4. During bulk flour loading, operators must monitor tank pressure at all times and keep it within the specified range.
5. The hopper-shaped loading bin must be inspected regularly, as flour tends to accumulate at the bottom. Over time, this can cause clumps that are hard to discharge, affecting the quality of stored flour later on.
Bulk flour transportation, as a specialized form of powdered material transport, requires stringent controls throughout the logistics process to ensure food safety. At the same time, this type of transport aligns with the current trend of standard-load logistics, promoting safe and compliant transport as the industry norm.
