1: Side-Loading Garbage Truck Chassis Specification

1.1  . Main Application

For haulage of solid waste/refuse of average density of 900kg/m3 in and around sub-urban centres of Accra where ambient temperatures are about 40 oC.


1.2 Engine Model : EQH180-40 (DONGFENG CUMMINS )

High Pressure Common Rail, Water-cooled,intercooling turbchargeing system, four-stroke cycle diesel engine with the following features:-

1.3 Cabin:

1.14 Protective Provision & Finish for Truck Chassis

a. Anti-corrosion provi-sions for the truck

For corrosion resistance be coated with 2 coats of oxide primer(or similar)on the inner and outer sides of the container,2 coats of synthetic enamel orange painting (or similar) on the outside and 2 coats of black expoxy paint(or similar)on the inner side.Paint must be resistant to abrasion and aggressive environments.

b. Final colour olive green.

2. Side-Loading Garbage Truck Superstructures

2.1 General Information

i. Loading Capacity 4600kg, GVW is not less than≥6000kg

ii. Engine horse power request: ≥80kw diesel engine ,4stroke,4cylinder or 6 cylinder.

iii. P.T.O.: 1,500-m~2,000-m;With High Pressure Pump With Indicator of water volume 

iv. With famous brand controll valve for the hydraulic system.

2.2 Refuse Collecting Body:

i. Refuse container is made of hot rolled Q235 carbon steel sheet of thickness 5mm for bottom

4mm thick for side body.Corrugation in the side sheets for extra strength.

ii. Container nominal loading capacity -7.5cubic meters

iii. U-shape cross members form a strong square with the bottom plate.

iv. High capacity cyclone with 12” full opening rear gate drived by two cylinders.

v. Hydraulic full opening rear door assembly with 2 heavy-duty wing clamps.

2.3 Ejector:

i. Heavy duty ejector made of U beams ,covered by 4mm steel sheets in capable to press the refuse from 3:1 up to 5:1 dependant on refuse nature.

ii. Powerfuel-double acting hydraulic cylinder moves the ejector forward and backward.

iii. Railways guide the movement of the ejector.

iv. The ejector moves backward to compress the refuse or to eject it outside of the container if the near-gate is opened.

v. The ejector initial position is very near to the front of edge of the container to reduce the dead volume of the container..

2.4. Side Loading Mechanism(Manipulator):

i. Operates by means of two(02) hydraulic cylinders.

ii. Could be adapted for many refuse containers.

iii. Whole process hydraulically operated.

iv. Two side loading mechanisms available.


2.5 Hydraulic System:

i. Hydraulic gear pump connected to the P.T.O.

ii. Maximum pressure limites can be set according customer requirements. Nominal  22mpа setted.

iii. Automatic valves system to make continuous cycle through one touch from the operator.

iv. Hydraulic tank with filters lids,temperature gauge and level indicator are standard equipped.

v. 70Liters oil tank capacity equipped..


2.6 Painting:

i. The inner surface of the refuse container be painted with two layers priming coats after sand blasting,the it will be painted with two layers of anti-rust,anti-corrosion paints.

ii. The outer surface is painted by the same ways as the inner surface but the final paint is painted using the desired color and stamps.
